Possible first snow
Posted by admin on November 30, 2009Looks like the St. Louis area may receive the first snow of the winter this week. Currently it appears that most will be southeast of the metro area. The forecast models have been off this year to the south for most storm tracks, so we could get a little more than currently forecast. The ground is still warm, so it will take a decent snowfall to amount to anything. Both homepages are updated to display links to the snow and ice forecast page: Snow Map
The O’Fallon station has a heater in the rain collector to measure the liquid in the snow, the St. Peters station relies on mother nature to melt the snow.
I am still working on getting a weather camera installed within the next month or two.
